Living Beyond Breast Cancer

LBBC's services are available in print, online, by phone and in person. This national organization provides educational webinars and guides in print, as well as real help over the phone through its helpline. Furthermore, our office's reconstructive patient care coordinator is a trained Young Advocate with LBBC.

CancerCare offers counseling and support groups both online and over the telephone. They also provide financial assistance for co-pays, transportation, home and childcare.

Hope Scarves helps survivors share scarves and inspiration with those going through treatment. When you request a scarf, you will also receive the stories of the women who wore it before you.

Breast Cancer Freebies collects information on free resources for cancer patients, including wigs, hats, services, and more.

The Livestrong Foundation offers free navigation services and other resources to those newly diagnosed, those in treatment, and survivors.

American Cancer Society of Austin

The American Cancer Society offers navigation services, rides to treatment, and ideas for coping with the side effects of treatment. Their Reach for Recovery program also connects patients to survivor volunteers for information and support.

Re: Cancer

Austin-based Re: Cancer is known for its peer-to-peer matching program, which offers one-on-one emotional support to individuals currently experiencing cancer. Matches are based on a variety of criteria including cancer site, treatments, age and gender. Re: Cancer volunteers also visit with cancer patients and their families at local participating oncology centers.
