Improve the Tone and Texture of Your Skin With a Contour TRL Laser Peel in Austin

Maintaining the clear, youthful complexion of your facial skin can be challenging–especially when the natural effects of aging start to compile. Many of us find ourselves noticing acne, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and a variety of other unsightly cosmetic issues when we look in the mirror. Fortunately, thanks to continued advancements in cosmetic technology, you may be able to eliminate these imperfections with a simple, painless, non-invasive treatment. At Austin Cosmetic Medspa, we offer treatment with the Contour TRL device, which has three distinct, powerful laser peels available to help our patients enhance the tone and texture of their skin.

What Is Contour TRL?

Contour TRL (Tunable Resurfacing Laser) treatment is a revolutionary skin resurfacing laser developed by Sciton. This dual-mode Erbium:YAG laser can help patients address the visible signs of skin damage caused by the sun, environmental toxins, and the passage of time.

When compared with CO2 lasers, clinical studies have shown Erbium lasers produce fewer side effects such as hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation and swelling. The Contour TRL allows our medspa providers to set the penetration of the laser energy to different depths, creating the TRL Nano Laser Peel, the TRL Micro Laser Peel, and the TRL Deep Laser Peel, ordered from least to most aggressive.

Benefits of Contour TRL Treatment

Contour TRL laser peels are cutting-edge skin rejuvenation treatments that can offer all of the following benefits:

  • Smoother, firmer, more youthful-looking facial skin
  • Reduced fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enhanced skin tone and texture
  • Addresses various cosmetic skin issues, such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and pigmented lesions
  • Long-lasting, natural-looking results
  • Little to no recovery time
  • Improved self-confidence
  • Fully customizable results
  • Increased collagen and elastin production

Who Is a Good Candidate for Contour TRL Treatment?

Any adults interested in non-invasive skin rejuvenation could be good candidates for one of our Contour TRL treatments. If you’d like to enhance the tone and texture of your facial skin while reducing signs of aging and other blemishes, a Contour TRL laser peel could potentially be a great option. During your initial consultation, one of our knowledgeable aesthetic professionals will evaluate your situation, including your health, medical history, and aesthetic goals, to help you determine if Contour TRL is right for you.

What to Expect During Your Contour TRL Treatment

After a quick consultation to go over your aesthetic goals and ensure that you’re a good candidate for the treatment, your Contour TRL procedure will be a quick and easy process. For Nano Laser Peels, topical numbing cream is optional. Some patients want it; others don’t feel the need. With Micro and Deep Laser Peels, we apply numbing cream prior to treatment to ensure your comfort.

The first step is to set the penetration depth to match your skincare issues and rejuvenation goals. The Contour TRL handpiece is then held directly over the target area and is held in place while the computer-guided scanner directs the laser energy over the area at the set depth and temperature. Once the laser peel treatment is finished, you’ll be able to leave the clinic and return home right away.

Contour TRL Recovery and Aftercare

Following your Nano Laser Peel or Micro Laser Peel, your skin will feel as though you have a mild sunburn across the treated areas. There will be some redness and may be slight swelling. These symptoms typically only last a day or two. You will also have some light peeling approximately three days after your Micro Laser Peel.

Contour TRL Deep Laser Peels feature deeper penetration. After one of these peels, there will likely be some crusting and swelling of the treatment area(s). This usually resolves in about a week. Redness can linger for a couple of weeks, but it can be masked with makeup.

Typically, patients have no problem resuming their normal routines and returning to work within 24 hours of their Contour TRL treatment. However, it’s wise to wait at least 24 to 48 hours to engage in strenuous physical activity.
